Muhammad Ali falece após lutar contra Mal de Parkinson por 32 anos; ídolos do esporte americano se solidarizam
Quando alguém do mundo esportivo que fez diferença em sua época morre, todos os fãs de sua modalidade sentem tal acontecimento, mas quando alguém como Muhammad Ali, que marcou a história e engrandeceu o nome de seu esporte, vem a falecer, todo o mundo dos esportes se solidariza e mostra seu respeito pelos feitos atingidos.
A morte do boxeador Cassius Clay, mais conhecido como Ali,dono de feitos e falas que ficaram nos corações dos amantes da luta e da força de vontade demonstrada por um atleta, motivou homenagens de vários atletas da NBA, e também ídolos da liga, assim como do comissário Adam Silver:

O já ganhador do prêmio de MVP da liga americana de basquete, Charles Barkley, também emitiu declaração sobre o falecimento de Ali: “‘Herói’ e ‘Lenda’ são de uso casual hoje em dia. Muhammad Ali, Dr. Martin Luther King e Bill Russell são e sempre serão. Eu não conseguiria agradecer estes três homens o suficiente e não tem nada a ver com o esporte. Obrigado, Champ. Descanse em paz.”
